“Our stay at Gorée Suites was a mix of positives and disappointments. To start with the positives, the property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and very calm. It looks just like the photos online, and the atmosphere is perfect if you're looking for somewhere quiet to relax. The only thing that surprised us was that the accommodation was smaller than we had expected. Communication was quite difficult throughout our stay because almost no one on the staff spoke English. The only person we were able to communicate with comfortably was the lovely lady who checked us in, who was from Guinea-Bissau. She was warm, welcoming, and made the check-in process much easier. Some members of the staff were pleasant, while others were not particularly friendly, so the level of service felt inconsistent. The food was okay, but the breakfast was disappointing. It's also worth noting that the restaurant is closed much of the time, and even when it is open, there are very limited food options. I would recommend planning your meals in advance or knowing where else you can eat nearby. The biggest disappointment, however, was the complete lack of support during a very difficult situation. We experienced an incident involving the police and found ourselves in an unexpected and stressful circumstance. We didn't make it back to the hotel until the following day, yet no one from the property attempted to check on us or see if we were safe. We had to ask someone we know in Senegal to contact the hotel on our behalf before they even reached out to us. Even then, the only response we received was a brief phone call, which didn't offer any meaningful assistance. No one offered to come and pick us up from the police station or help us get back safely. We were left to find our own way back to the hotel. As guests staying at the property, we expected a much greater level of care and concern, especially in an emergency.”

“We had an excellent stay at the Gorée Suites. We booked the suite with the pool view for 4 nights and everything was perfect. The suite was very clean, spacious and I loved the interior design. The courtyard is very beautiful with palms, clean pool and nice design as well. The staff were all super sweet, friendly and helpful and the service, both cleaning and also restaurant / bar / breakfast was great! We really felt at home and comfortable during our stay. The location is good too, it’s calm and quiet but not too far from the restaurants and main streets. If we’re visiting Senegal again, we’re definitely looking forward to stay here again! Thank you!”
